Removal of (wisdom) teeth
With a short treatment, we safely remove the cause. Here you can read in brief what to expect. For detailed information, you can download the brochure.
Do you recognise these complaints?
- You have pain or a nagging sensation at the back of the jaw
- The gums around the molar are more often red and swollen or become inflamed
- Space is limited, making cleanliness difficult and complaints keep coming back
What are we going to do?
Intake and explanation
During the intake, we discuss your symptoms and look at the X-ray. We calmly explain what we will do and you can ask all your questions.
Anaesthetic
You will be given a local anaesthetic like at the dentist. As a result, you will not feel any pain during the treatment. We always check that the anaesthetic is working properly before we start.
Remove
The oral surgeon carefully removes the molar or root remnant. Sometimes the gums are set aside for a while or we make some space in the jawbone. If necessary, the molar is removed in parts so that this is as comfortable as possible.
Immediately after
The wound is stitched and you are immediately given instructions for home. The stitches usually dissolve on their own within 10 to 14 days. You will leave the outpatient clinic with clear instructions and, if necessary, a prescription for painkillers.
Important to know
The treatment usually takes between 20 and 40 minutes. Most people experience mild post-treatment pain and swelling for two to three days. During treatment, you will feel pressure, not pain. Reimbursement is often possible. We will help you with a cost check beforehand so you know where you stand.
